Erste Bank Polska named the best bank in Poland in “responsible banking” by Euromoney
- The bank was named the best in Poland in the areas of “responsible banking” and “customer experience” in this year’s edition of the Euromoney Awards for Excellence.
- Erste Bank Polska also received the title of “Best Investment Bank in Poland”.
- For the third year in a row, Erste Group was named “Best Bank in Central and Eastern Europe” and was also awarded the title of “Best Bank in CEE for Large Corporates”.
These are among the most important distinctions in international banking. For the bank, this is a special achievement — the awards were granted in the first year of operating under the Erste Bank Polska brand.
In this year’s edition of the Euromoney Awards for Excellence, Erste Bank Polska received three awards: “Best Bank in Poland for Responsible Banking”, “Best Investment Bank in Poland”, and “Best Bank in Poland for Customer Experience”. These distinctions demonstrate the bank’s broad capabilities — from supporting the largest investment and capital market transactions, through developing customer experience, to conducting business responsibly.
In the responsible banking category, the jury recognised Erste Bank Polska’s long-term responsible business strategy. The bank’s commitment to developing initiatives in education, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, digital security, support for local communities and culture was acknowledged. In 2025 alone, the bank’s social initiatives reached, among others, 833,810 beneficiaries of financial education.
The jury also recognised Erste Bank Polska for its leading position in investment banking and its significant contribution to the development of the Polish capital market. In 2025, the Bank was number one in the equity and debt markets by transaction value, as well as a leader in the mergers and acquisitions market, while its strong position was further confirmed by three wins in the ranking of Treasury Securities Dealers. The Bank supported clients in raising capital by participating in the most complex transactions, including the largest share buyback in the history of the Warsaw Stock Exchange for one of its clients, major share and bond issues, and projects of fundamental importance for the security, competitiveness and development of the Polish economy. The jury also appreciated the Bank’s effectiveness in executing complex international projects and delivering innovative financial solutions for corporate and institutional clients.
The Euromoney distinctions show that at Erste Bank Polska we are successfully combining the international strength of Erste Group with the experience and expertise of teams that have worked with clients on the Polish market for years. The title of “Best Investment Bank in Poland” is especially gratifying, because behind major transactions there are always specific needs of companies that want to develop, invest and grow. For us, the most important thing is that we can be a partner at those moments when access to capital truly determines the scale of further development. In turn, the awards for building the best customer experience and responsible banking show that today a modern bank is not only about scale and results, but above all about the quality of relationships, trust and responsibility.
In the area of customer experience, the jury highlighted, among other things, record customer satisfaction results and the effective combination of digital innovation with expert support from advisers. The Bank consistently simplifies online banking and develops its mobile application, which is already used by 3.3 million active users. In 2025, the Bank implemented a range of innovations that significantly simplified and accelerated customer service. The mobile app introduced, among other features, self-service management of transfer limits, recurring BLIK payments, and the ability to invest comprehensively in funds directly from the app. Another important solution was the hybrid account-opening model based on QR codes and integration with the mObywatel app. Credit processes were also further digitalised. Customers can complete even more complex activities fully digitally, such as confirming a spouse’s consent, verifying external income, consolidating loans from other banks or changing repayment schedules. Thanks to this approach, as many as 90% of loans are granted through digital channels.

Many years ago, Erste Group recognised the entrepreneurial spirit and start-up, innovative way of working that are so characteristic of the dynamics of the Central European region. Following this year’s acquisition of the largest private bank in Poland, we now serve 23 million customers and can proudly say that we are a leading bank in Central Europe — a region that continues to develop and where Europe’s economic, social and geopolitical future is being shaped.
For Erste Bank Polska, the awards in three categories have particular significance. The Bank received them in its first year of operating under the new brand, following the formal change of name to Erste Bank Polska. This confirms that the new stage of the Bank’s development is built on strong foundations: local experience, customer trust, modern solutions and the strength of one of the leading banking groups in Central Europe.
