27 kwietnia 2026

On 24 April this year, following an entry in the National Court Register, Santander Bank Polska S.A. changed its name to Erste Bank Polska S.A. The new blue logo has appeared in branches, on the website, across the ATM network, and in online and mobile banking services. Under the new brand, the bank wants to focus on supporting customers’ growth and strengthening their self-confidence—because it is the foundation of effective action, turning plans into reality, and achieving satisfaction in life and finances.

Over the past weekend, the bank changed the signage of its branches and partner outlets. The new logo and colours can be seen, among other places, on the website www.erste.pl, in online and mobile banking, as well as on ATMs and cash deposit machines. The change of brand does not affect day-to-day use of banking services—all accounts, cards, and products work as before, and existing agreements remain in force.

For customers, the name and brand change of one of Poland’s largest private banks marks a new beginning built on very solid foundations: the experience of a local bank that supports 6 million customers every day, and the more than 200-year tradition of a leading banking group in Central Europe.

Today we are starting the next chapter in our history—now as Erste Bank Polska. Our approach, based on understanding customers’ needs and mutual trust, remains unchanged. From now on, we combine the strength of the leading banking group in the region with our local experience and the power of our customer relationships. I am confident this change will bring real value and enable us to support the growth of Polish companies and the local economy even better.

Michał Gajewski

CEO of Erste Bank Polska

The bank’s new name follows its joining Erste, a leading banking group in Central Europe, which in January 2026 acquired a 49% stake in the bank and became its main shareholder. Since the beginning of the year, the bank has carried out intensive communication activities focused on building awareness of the new brand in Poland.

Believe in yourself. We believe in you. Erste Bank Poland

The foundation of the new brand in Poland is not only putting people at the centre, but above all strengthening their self-confidence and sense of agency. For more than 200 years, Erste has been guided by the belief that everyone has potential for growth, regardless of age, status, or where they are today. At the heart of this change is the simple but powerful message of the brand campaign accompanying the rebrand: “Believe in yourself”—because the awareness that someone believes in us truly changes the way we act.

Changing our name to Erste Bank Polska is something far more significant for us than a new signboard. It is a clear signal of who we want to be for our customers—a bank that believes in people and in their potential. We believe that self-confidence is crucial both in everyday decisions and in pursuing bigger plans. That is why we want to support customers not only with good products, but also with an approach built on partnership, trust, and real support in life and in business. Erste Bank Polska is a bank that says: believe in yourself—and we will help you take the next step. We are a brand focused on people, courage, and belief in agency. Erste Bank Polska is also a bank attractive to younger generations—dynamic, responsible, and bold. This is the direction in which we want to develop banking under the new brand.

Erste—You come first

The main element of the logo is the brand name Erste—white letters on a blue background—along with the distinctive Erste Group symbol. The symbol refers to the tradition of savings banking and the purpose of Erste Group: helping people build prosperity. The new visual identity of Erste Bank reflects a modern approach to finance—transparent, contemporary, and based on long-term trust. It clearly communicates Erste Bank Polska’s ambition: to stay close to people by offering responsible and easy-to-understand banking in a changing world. The name Erste—meaning “first”—reflects the philosophy of putting customers at the centre and supporting them as they take their first and next steps towards achieving everyday and long-term financial goals.

A new offer to get started

The slogan “Believe in yourself” will be visible not only in the bank’s brand narrative, but above all in the way it builds even closer relationships with customers—also through the products and services it offers.  To welcome customers, the bank has prepared new features that will soon be available. To support healthy financial habits, new savings accounts will appear in mid-May. Their interest rate will increase along with the customer’s financial activity. For people who love to travel, Erste Bank Polska will offer the Currencies Without Borders package for the Smart account. The app will also include a new eSIM service, enabling customers to use mobile internet while travelling abroad in more than 200 countries (e.g., Turkey, Egypt, and Asian countries).

The bank’s new brand also brings new names for some products and services. Online banking and the mobile app for retail and SME customers now operate under the name Erste online. People using the app do not need to download it again—if automatic updates are enabled, the app will update itself. The names of online banking services for business and corporate customers remain unchanged: iBiznes24, Mini Firma/Moja Firma plus.  The name of the mobile app also remains unchanged—iBiznes24 mobile.

New names have also been adopted by subsidiaries within the bank’s capital group: Erste Investment Funds Society S.A., Erste Leasing S.A., Erste Factoring Sp. z o.o., Erste Allianz Insurance Company S.A., Erste Allianz Life Insurance Company S.A., Erste F24 S.A., and Erste Finances Sp. z o.o.
